Blue Chip Global Development (BCGD) signed a 50-year long-term agreement for countrywide infrastructure and other development projects in the tribal lands of the Philippines with the Alliance in Missions for the Least Reached People Group Incorporated in Manila, Philippines, on July 19, 2024.
The Bilateral National Agreement aims to elevate the social and economic welfare status and promote and recognize the rights of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) under the existing laws of the Indigenous People’s Rights Act of 1997 (RA 8371). The agreement also commits to implementing various sustainable socio-economic projects while helping the government attain its aspirations of “Ambisyon Natin 2040,” which will help the country become a high-income economy by 2040 through the Tribal Initiative.
The agreement also states the implementation of humanitarian and developmental projects throughout the Philippine Archipelago, encompassing all tribal lands within the ancestral domains, cadastral titles, and other private lands stated in the signed memorandum.
Some priority projects include the mixed development of the 32,348.64 hectares of the ancestral domain in the City of Iligan, Lanao Del Norte, with CADT Title No. R10-ILI-0117-212, En Banc Resolution No.: 209-2017-AD, and ICC/IPs of Higaonon Kalilangan, Tribe in Barangays Rogongon, Panoroganan, and Mainit, and Sitios Magayad, Binasan, and Limunsudan.
Also a priority project is the 117,000 hectares of the ancestral domain of the Ata-Manobo Indigenous Cultural Community with CADT Title No. R11-TAL-0308-071, encompassing the Municipalities of Kapalong, Talaing, San Isidro, and Santo Tomas, Province of Davao Del Norte.
